The expressive growth in the production of solid waste occurred after the industrial development process and, linked to this, society faces major problems related to the impacts on environmental quality and public health caused by the inadequate management of this waste. Thus, there is a need to develop public policies that regulate all phases of solid waste management, from its generation to its final destination.

The Seleta application traces a route between the user's location and the nearest ecopoint for the disposal of specific solid waste. This knowledge facilitates the population's access to these places and, combined with an environmental awareness, promotes the sustainable growth of cities.
