Silakka is a simple electricity price monitor application.
Silakka uses data from Nordpool via the open API www.sahkohinta-api.fi and is thus mainly targeted for the Finnish audience (EUR and 25.5% VAT).
Silakka contains two graphs: A bigger one above shows values for today and the smaller one below, the values for tomorrow. Note, the data for tomorrow usually arrives around 14:15 in the afternoon.
Each graph contains 24 bars, one for each hour (0-23). Touching one of the bars will highlight it and its value in cents is displayed on the upper left corner on the graph.
A green bar means that the value is less than 10 c/kWh, yellow 10-20 c/kWh, magenta 20-30 and red 40+ c/kWh. The a bit greyish bars are history, and the current bar is slightly highlighted.
All values contain the VAT, except the negative values.
Note that Silakka is a Less is More Application (LIM-App) that will take you straight to the core application functionality without the need of navigation. This approach is a bit unorthodox and it might feel a bit harsh in the beginning, but quite soon it will settle as crisp and useful. This is the sole point of a LIM-application.
