The collection of poems "From Sokol's Vis" represents the beginning of the poet's literary work. For understanding his poetry and archaicness, a review of his life is important. His spiritual and moral development was significantly influenced by growing up in a modest working-class family. The mother, a housewife, and the father, a factory worker, both from the village of Đake, below Radan Mountain and Sokolovo Vis, raised their son in the spirit of old patriarchal values, where honesty, honor and respect are the highest values of life.
