Isala Nutrition is a diary for keeping track of food and drinks with the associated nutritional values.
Being ill is top sport and nutrition plays an important role in this.
With this app you can independently check whether you are getting enough nutrients (or not too much). The app shows the following nutritional values for foods:
• Egg white
• Potassium
• Sodium
• Salty
• Moisture
• Energy
• Phosphate
• Carbohydrates
In the Isala Nutrition app you can add products to your food diary per meal moment. The app adds up the nutritional values from your diet.
For a number of nutritional values you can specify a standard value to compare the intake with.
Examples:
- You want to get at least 80 grams of protein. Then you set the standard value of protein at 80 grams.
- You have a protein-restricted diet of a maximum of 70 grams of protein, with a sodium restriction of 2400 mg (this is equivalent to 6 grams of salt) and a potassium restriction of 3000 mg. You then set the protein standard value to 80, the sodium standard value to 2400, salt to 6 and potassium to 3000. This way you can maintain control over all your goals regarding your diet.
There are no standard values or goals to set per day for phosphate and carbohydrates because they are usually not relevant. What is relevant is the quantities per meal time in order to optimally coordinate the medication for diabetes and kidney disease.
The use of this app provides support during illness and/or recovery and is not a replacement for the dietician in the hospital. Only use the app after consultation with your Isala dietician.
About Isala
Isala is one hospital organization with five locations in Zwolle, Meppel, Steenwijk, Kampen and Heerde. Under the motto 'close if possible, further away if necessary', we jointly guarantee the provision of basic and top care for 675,000 residents of 20 municipalities in Southwest Drenthe and Northwest Overijssel.
Isala offers more than basic care. Over the years, we have been assigned more and more special, top clinical positions. Often in recognition of the knowledge and skills that specialists had built up on their own initiative. In top clinical functions, such as cardiac and neurosurgery and dialysis, we can compete with academic hospitals.
