Generation R participants can participate in additional studies via this app. By participating, you help Generation R with research into emotions, hearing, eyes and teeth. There are several levels you can participate in. You can choose which level you start with, and you can also do them all at the same time. Tracking Teens lasts one week, where you fill in five short questions every day about where and with who you are, and how you feel at the time. By answering these questions about your emotions a few times a day, the researchers can get a good idea of ​​the emotions of young people at different times of the day. The Eye & Ear level lasts five weeks with a short questionnaire twice a week and a number of measurements via your phone that you do not have to do anything for. In the Eye section we ask how much you have been outside and your screen time, the distance from your eyes to the screen, your screen brightness, and the lighting conditions are measured via your phone. For example, we can investigate whether participants with a lot of smartphone use are more often nearsighted. In the Ear section we measure the exposure to sound via earplugs or headphones via the mobile phone. In addition, we ask whether you went to a party, how loud the music was there, and whether you had ringing in your ears after this visit. This allows us to investigate the risk of hearing damage from exposure to loud sounds and music. The Teeth level lasts three months, where you complete a short questionnaire twice about your oral health and the last visit to the dentist. In this way we can properly map how Generation R participants experience their own oral health, and how often and for what reason the dentist is visited. Everything you enter and that is measured via the app is only used for the research of Generation R. All data that the app measures are stored in a safe place. Ultimately, your data will be linked to a code and not to your name, so we can process all information securely and anonymously and use it for the investigation. At each level you can earn a number of points to save for a discount code.
