Measuring at home with The Box

More and more people can use The Box. A method of care in which the patient is given measuring equipment to take home to measure, for example, blood pressure, weight or temperature. The use of home measuring equipment for patients is a promising and growing concept. Many different measurements are now possible and many are still being added. A major advantage of home measurement is that patients have more insight into their health and therefore experience more control over care.

It is also very useful for doctors. The practitioners now have insight into the measured values ​​over a longer period of time, instead of just in the hospital. Changes in blood pressure, weight and heart rate are easier to see and because there are more measurements, the values ​​are more reliable. The collected data is sent to the LUMC in a secure manner via the smartphone. In addition, The Box makes it possible to have a digital consultation with a practitioner in a safe way.
