Curiosity was launched from Cape Canaveral on November 26th 2011. It took over 8 months to complete it's 560 million kilometer journey and successfully land on Mars on August 6th 2012. Since then Curiosity transmitted over 360.000 pictures back to Earth. The main scientific goal of the mission is to determine whether Mars could ever have supported life and study the climate and geology of Mars.
