Welcome to the game about Rasmus and Gusse at the Hospital! Here you meet the hospital mouse Rasmus and his friend Gusse, and together with them you will visit the hospital. Here you can carry out several of the usual procedures encountered in the hospital, such as a blood test, MRI, general health check or anaesthesia, and there are also several fun little games you can play with.
The game is designed for children aged 3-8 years. The children can play it alone, or together with their parents. We recommend that you have the sound on, as the game is without text. Rasmus and the doctor will then show you through many of the treatments you will encounter at the hospital.
The game has been developed in close collaboration with the professional staff at Rikshospitalet in Oslo and St. Olav's Hospital in Trondheim. The wording, content, information and medical angle have been designed so that the children will have the safest possible experience when they later arrive at the hospital.
Children who are going to hospital are often unsure of what awaits them. Both examinations and treatment can create trauma, fear and other unwanted consequences if it happens beyond the child's control.
This game creates an academic basis, where the children, together with Rasmus and Gusse, can explore the potentially scary things they have to go through. The game is created as a safe and good experience, where both parents and children can start preparing for what will happen. Keywords are increased security, involvement and health competence.
See you at the hospital!
