A book version of Den store bokmålsordboka was first published by Kagge Forlag in 2014, and
an electronic version was launched the same year on Clarify. Since 2014, the author has been working
with a further developed version of the work in consultation with the Language Council. The further developed
the version of the work contains approx. 200,000 word articles. The large Bokmål dictionary informs
about all permitted spelling variants. A lexicographical and computer technology innovation is that
all lookup words are provided with a color code. Words marked in green indicate that it is
standardized and found in the dictionary. Yellow indicates that the word can be used, but has not yet been taken
included in the dictionary. Red color for a lookup word is used to indicate if not allowed
spelling. The author has received support from the non-fiction fund and the foundation Fritt Ord.
