When a widow dies a painful death, she becomes an evil spirit. In unconsciousness, the ghost roams the village, enters locked houses and kills the men living there. Sounds like a scary story?

In fact, this is a belief that exists throughout Southeast Asia. Every year in Thailand, dozens of men die in their sleep under unusual circumstances: they fall asleep and never wake up again. Many Thais attribute these strange incidents to vengeance on the part of "fi memai" - a "widow's ghost" capable of terrorizing entire villages.

The visual novel "There Are No Men in This House" is based on the legend of phi memai and tells the story of several eccentric tourists who are trapped on an island in Thailand due to a pandemic. When one of the villagers mysteriously dies, the heroes begin an investigation and come to the conclusion that the spirit of the widow may be involved in the death.
