One Scream is a voice-activated personal safety app for women and teenage girls.

One Scream is designed for moments of extreme distress, where your instinctive reaction is to scream.

Your instinctive panic scream is what triggers the app to identify your location and send help to your loved ones.

Simply keep your phone nearby, with the app on, and One Scream will do the rest. It even works from the bottom of your handbag.

WHAT IS A PANIC SCREAM?
A panic scream is a woman’s innate response to danger. It’s louder and more complex than other sounds and linked directly to fear. For example the noise from a regular conversation may measure just a few Hz on a sound scale but a panic scream can push the number way above 100 Hz.

One Scream is programmed to detect a call for survival, not just loud noises and playful screaming but urgent, guttural screams that signify genuine distress.


HOW DOES THE APP WORK?
Select, notify & add up to 3 people to be notified if you panic scream, your helpers when you need them most.

Allow One Scream to use your microphone so the app can hear you scream

Allow access to your location so the app can send it to your helpers

Allow push notifications so you can cancel an alarm if you need to

Press the Play button to turn on One Scream and Pause to turn it off


HOW DOES IT WORK?
When One Scream is on and detects a panic scream it activates an alarm on your phone.

You hear a loud siren, the phone vibrates and lights flash. A notification pops up to give you 20 seconds to press it and cancel the alarm if you need to.

After 20 seconds, both an automated voice call and a text message is sent to your Helpers to deliver the One Scream alert, which includes your name and location.

Providing your Helpers pick up the phone, the line stays open after the One Scream alert is delivered so they can hear you and gather more information for the police.

One Scream can’t hear you when you’re on a call, if your phone is off.

We are testing its’ capabilities if you are in a loud environment like at a concert or on a rollercoaster.

The app won’t work if you have no phone signal or are using another app that uses the microphone. It also can’t detect a scream if your voice is changed by the effects of alcohol or drugs.

One Scream does not record conversations or calls to Helpers.

The app can only detect panic screams and does not track your location in real-time.

We respect your privacy and exist only to empower women and teenage girls.

(One day we’d love to offer One Scream to everyone, but young girls, seniors and males sound different when they scream. We’d have to build a separate app for that.)
