This study focuses on the development of an expert system that can generate a list of prescription and alternative medicines for pulmonary diseases. The system consists of six modules. The Medicine Information Module presents a list of brand and generic drugs and information about dosage, content and combination, age restriction, administration, indications, contraindications, warnings and precautions based on the user�s previous and present health condition. The Inquiry Module will display a summary of information about respiratory diseases. Medicine Interaction Module will be responsible for identifying potentially harmful medicine interactions that may occur if the user takes multiple medication at a time. The Alternative Medicines Module will include popular herbal supplements available, possible side effects when taken alone or with other medicine dosages, cautions and other useful information. The Assistant Module will be notifying the user through alerts on their mobile devices. The Activity Log will record all transactions of the user with the system.
