Federal deputy Léo Moraes was born on January 11, 1984. Graduated in Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC-PR), he began his political career during his academic life, having worked at the Academic Center of Law, where he became General Secretary of the Central Student Directory (DCE), an entity that represented 25,000 students at the time.
In 2012, affiliated to the PTB, he won his first term in the Porto Velho City Council, elected with 2,300 votes, became leader of his party's bench. Author of several draft laws such as: the regulation of the profession of civil firefighters, the creation of the municipal youth council, remission of payment of IPTU for the properties affected by floods, the Open Vote in the City Hall, Parliamentary Permanent Ethics Commission, among others.
In his term of councilor, he also served as President of the Constitution and Justice Commissions, the Permanent Commission on the Rights of Children and Adolescents and Youth and the Environment Commission.
As a councilor, Léo Moraes (PTB) was honored with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Political category in 2012. In 2014, he presented himself as a candidate for State Deputy, being elected with 10,275 votes, the Deputy with the highest expression of votes of the Capital Rondoniense. He began his term on the Constitution and Justice, Security Commissions and as chairman of the Human Rights Commission.
In 2018, he was elected Federal Deputy by the State of Rondônia, by the PODEMOS party. Léo Moraes obtained 69,565 total votes (8.88% of valid votes), the most voted federal deputy in the State of Rondônia.
In his first term in the Federal Chamber, deputy Léo Moraes (PODE-RO) has already received tribute from the digital platform: Ranking of Politicians. With 319 points, the congressman reached the 16th position in the list of the best deputies in Brazil. In addition, he was considered the best parliamentarian in the State of Rondônia, the best in the North and Northeast regions and the best deputy of the party Vamos.
Despite his firm defense of the people of Rondônia, the congressman has drawn the attention of the Brazilian people, integrating relevant guidelines at the national level. In addition to being a strong supporter of public security professionals, Léo Moraes is also a member of the commissions for the Pension Reform, for the Inspection of Regulatory Agencies, for the drafting of the National Energy Code, for Penal Reform, for Doctors for Brazil, among others.
