Harrisburg Historical is a free downloadable app that takes users on tours of significant stories, places, and people of the Pennsylvania Capital Region. Harrisburg Historical offers compelling place-based storytelling that includes short-form stories and tours, interactive maps, primary sources, secondary resources, and images, audio, and video clips. As such, the mobile app provides an easy way to navigate the histories of the greater Harrisburg area.
Harrisburg Historical is produced and managed by Messiah University's Center for Public Humanities, Digital Harrisburg Initiative, and the Department of History, Politics and International Relations in collaboration with community institutions and partners. Stories and tours are developed, written, and edited by students, professors, teachers, and community historians, and are published throughout the year.
