Many dentists neglect the importance of calculating the safe anesthetic dose, mainly due to the cumbersome task of manually calculating it by hand. This app aims to change this fact by making these calculations much easier to perform. Enter the weight in kilograms and the app will do the rest! Any advice or feedback for future improvements is always welcome!

Calculations based on Chapter 4 of The Handbook of Local Anesthesia, 7th Edition.
The maximum recommended doses used are as follows :

1- Articaine, 4%, with Epinephrine 1:100000/1:200000 ---> 7 mg/kg with no absolute maximum.

2- Lidocaine, 2%, with Epinephrine 1:50000/1:100000 ---> 7 mg/kg with 500 mg as the absolute maximum. 200 micrograms of epinephrine is the dose limiting factor here.

3- Mepvicaine, 3%, Plain ---> 6.6 mg/kg with 400 mg as the absolute maximum.

4- Mepvicaine, 2%, with Levonordefrin ---> 6.6 mg/kg with 400 mg as the absolute maximum.

5- Prilocaine, 4%, Plain or with Epinephrine 1:200000 ---> 8 mg/kg with 600 mg as the absolute maximum.

* Bupivacaine and Mepvicaine with Epinephrine are not covered by this app.
