To re-open borders without quarantine and restart aviation, airlines and governments need to be confident that they are effectively mitigating the risk of transmission of disease. This means having accurate information on passengers’ health status. The IATA Travel Pass is a digital platform for passengers which allows airlines and governments to do this.
It allows passengers to find accurate information on travel and testing requirements for their journey. Authorised labs and test centres can then send the results to each passenger in a verifiable, safe and private way.
IATA Travel Pass is based on 'Self-sovereign identity', giving the passenger complete control over their data. It gives each passenger a digital wallet to store all of their travel documentation - including biometric passports - and choose who to share it with.
