AUMG (आलू के लिए उरबर्क मात्रा गणक) is a user friendly android compatible mobile application developed to calculate fertilizer dose to be applied for potato production. The app will be useful for potato growers cultivating potato for table, processing as well as seed potato production purposes. AUMG is in two languages viz. English and Hindi. App will help farmers to quantify amount of fertilizer to be applied to their potato crop on the basis of sources of available fertilizers in the market. The use of application is confined to potato growing regions of Madhya Pradesh.This app has very smart interface which is used to calculate fertilizer recommendation by the implementation of soil health card scheme of Govt. of India.
Potato is considered as a high potential cash crop owing to its nutritive supremacy, short growing period, broader adaptability and immediate returns. It is one of the major and important crops of MP produced for divergence purposes/ use as table seed and processing. Farmers often resort to apply over fertilization of some nutrient and under fertilization of other which has resulted in inappropriate fertilization and consequently lower yields. Therefore, extension of adequate knowledge and awareness about these most important input components is utmost important for achieving optimum yield and better economic returns. Government of India has initiated a large scale program to implementation of soil health card scheme by following soil testing. In the present context, use of digital technology/ modern IT tools can play an important role in extending the readymade knowledge for balance nutrient management in crops. Keeping above consideration ICAR-CPRI has developed AUMG (आलू के लिए उरबर्क मात्रा गणक) a user- friendly android compatible mobile application developed to calculate fertilizer dose to be applied for potato production.
