Sign up to receive linguistic support for conversations with healthcare professionals to help you. Kampong app acts a bridge between users (patients) and medical staff (doctors, nurses or medical social workers) where both will be able to articulate themselves easily without any loss in translation. Our volunteer community in Singapore is qualified with the relevant language skills to provide this assistance. Why let language be a barrier in receiving the best advice and care?
If you live in Singapore and speak English and other foreign languages, and are interested in helping improve communication between users (patients) and the medical staff, please sign up as a volunteer and answer calls from a person when someone needs your help! Tasks are usually completed in just a few minutes, and if you’re busy there’s no need to answer – someone else will get it.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Anyone 18 or older who is a resident of Singapore may sign up as a user or volunteer.
2. When some medical staff needs help, requests are routed to multiple volunteers simultaneously based on age and language match.
3.Video calls are connected based on selected matching criteria. Average wait time is expected to be about 15 seconds.
4. When a volunteer accepts a call, a live audio -video is initiated, allowing volunteers to provide verbal translation support to medical staff.
What can volunteers help you with?
Volunteers provide multilingual expertise during a conversation with medical staff. This can include articulating the health issues or simple requirements such as assistance for basic services.
