Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church is a Christ-centered and Bible believing church. We are committed to disciple, enable, and encourage one another to love, worship, and serve our Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. We further commit ourselves to share the gospel with our friends and neighbors in the surrounding communities and throughout the world.

Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1904 by Reverend Grant James, Reverend M.N. Watts and Reverend Amos Smith.

At the time the church was organized there were 15 faithful members: Brothers, W.M. Teague, Jim Watts, George Boston, Bill Watts, Henry Bell, Robert Boston, Asbury Dula, Lee Dula, Felix Dula and Charlie Flowers, Sisters Edith Watts, Bessie Teague, Nellie Boston, Mittie Dula and Fannie Flowers. The first church services were held in the Old Bell School House near Barrett’s Mountain.

During that time the preachers who delivered those fiery sermons were: Reverend J.A. Parsons, Reverend Amos Smith, Reverend M.N. Watts and Reverend George Parker. They held services in the Old Bell School House for 10 years. Then in 1914, one member, Bro. Henry Bell donated an acre of land to the church.

Reverend Ardeal Roseboro was called to Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church in 2003. He preached his initial sermon on Sunday, March 2, 2003 and was installed as pastor on May 4th, 2003.

Since that time over 100 members have joined Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Not only has the church grown in numbers, but it has also grown in spirit and unity through his preaching of the gospel, biblical teaching and intercessory prayer.

Under Reverend Roseboro’s leadership Liberty Grove has a thriving Sunday School, new classes have been added and others improved to meet the spiritual needs of each member. The church is also blessed to have a vibrant youth ministry that is designed to encourage, include and support youth.

Reverend Roseboro has led the church in increasing its mission outreach in the community with the Meals On Wheels ministry and through participation in local, state and national conventions. Through his efforts, the church has service at noon twice a month and the church is now incorporated.

Many improvements to church property and equipment have been made during Reverend Roseboro’s pastorship, including: new roof, sliding doors, windows, additional chairs, tables for the fellowship hall, a sound system and security system.

We thank God for Liberty Grove and for the leaders who have labored down through the years to bring the church to where it is today. Many descendants of Liberty Grove’s founders are working in the church today. So we are inspired, encouraged and determined to move forward. This is Liberty Grove the friendly church on the hill, where everyone is somebody and Jesus is Lord.
