The Faraj prayer is a prayer that begins with the phrase "God is great in calamity." This prayer has been mentioned for the first time in the book of Kunuz al-Najah by Sheikh Tabarsi and it has also been quoted by works such as Wasa'il al-Shi'ah (by Sheikh Harr Ameli) and Jamal al-Asbu '(by Sayyid ibn Tawus).
It is said that the Imam of the Age taught the Faraj prayer to Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Abi alith, who had taken refuge in Kazemin for fear of being killed. He was saved from death by reciting this prayer.
Faraj prayer is one of the pursuits of Imam Zaman prayer and one of the acts of the crypt of absence. This prayer is mentioned in the book Mafatih al-Jannan in the prayer section.
