ADRI is an innovative mobile application developed to strengthen inclusive recycling in Ecuador. It arose in response to the challenges faced by recyclable waste management systems, especially the lack of efficient connection between citizens and grassroots recyclers. This digital tool promotes an inclusive, fair, and accessible approach, contributing to closing the digital divide and dignifying the fundamental role played by those who work daily in recycling.
This initiative stems from a commitment to strengthening grassroots recyclers' organizations, grouped under RENAREC (National Network of Recyclers of Ecuador), a nationwide organization that promotes the formalization, recognition, and fair compensation of grassroots recyclers, highlighting their role as key players in the inclusive circular economy and environmental protection.
ADRI not only connects citizens with grassroots recyclers but also facilitates direct and efficient communication for waste management, contributing to the development of cleaner, more sustainable, and socially responsible cities. The app is designed to be intuitive, user-friendly, and accessible to all users, with the goal of encouraging more people to join this inclusive recycling network.
Among its features, ADRI allows citizens to request collections, learn about proper waste separation practices, and actively participate in a community committed to caring for the planet and respecting the rights of those who work in recycling.
This project has a woman's face. ADRI was conceived with a gender perspective, recognizing that many of the people who sustain recycling with their daily efforts are women. Therefore, the app also seeks to make their work visible and provide them with technological tools that allow them to improve their quality of life.
ADRI is more than an app: it's a commitment to social inclusion, environmental justice, and digital transformation with a human touch. It's a tool for building a fairer, more efficient, and sustainable recycling system, where everyone can be part of the change.
