Orma is an Afro-Asiatic language spoken by a group of about 92,100 who live Kilifi, Lamu, and Tana River counties of Kenya.
The Ethnologue classifies the Orma language as Afro-Asiatic, Cushitic, East, Oromo. The ISO code is [orc]. There are two main dialects: Orma and Munyo. Munyo has alternate names: Korokoro and Munyo Yaya. The Orma language is distinct from Borana [gax]. Orma is a member of macrolanguage Oromo [orm].
The Orma people highly value their language and use it in social settings. Some also use English or Swahili. The Aweer [bob] people speak Orma as a second language.
There is literature in the language including the New Testament (2016).
