The Art Culture Center was established on May 15, 1986 and was a direct continuation of the initiative of the Group of artists and photographers of the Kalisz Lovers' Society, who gathered in June 1979. The first exhibition in the "Water Tower" gallery took place on January 24, 1983. Since then, the water tower built in the 1930s, apart from its characteristic shape, embedded in the city's landscape, can be associated with broadly understood artistic activities, from education, through artistic actions and open-air events, to presentations of the artistic achievements of artists of all possible fields and professions. .
