The dictionary contains over 60,000 words of the modern Persian language, including everyday vocabulary, sociopolitical and widely used special terminology, as well as a significant number of classical words found in the works of modern writers.

Illustrative examples (in the form of separate phrases and sentences) and phraseological units are widely represented in the dictionary. Persian words are given transcription based on Russian graphics, grammatical characteristics and grammatical forms are indicated.
