The main goal of aerodynamic calculation is to select the cross section of the ducts and determine the pressure loss in the sections. This calculator can easily cope with this task.
Operating procedure:
1. Set the air speed
a. By automatically calculating depending on the optimal speed in the ducts (click "calculate speed")
b. By entering the speed yourself (click "set speed")
2. Add a section of the required material / section
a. Choose material
b. Select a section (round, rectangular, square)
c. Press the button “Add a plot” (the plot will be added to the table)
3. Set local resistances in the area
a. Select a part of the duct (after selecting a part you will be very roughly given its approximate coefficient, which can be changed manually)
b. Select the area where you want to add this local resistance
c. Click the “Add Part” button
d. If necessary, it can be removed by ticking the table and clicking on the button “Delete Part”
4. Set the necessary parameters in the table
a. Set the flow rate in the corresponding section
b. Set the length of the plot
c. Press the button “Calculation” (the result will be the answer in the column “Required section”)
d. Press the “Select” button or set the “Accepted section” yourself
e. Press the “Calculation” button again and on the basis of the “Accepted section”, all remaining values of the table will be calculated
The results will be the required area, the required section, the accepted section, the equivalent diameter of the ducts, the actual speed in the duct, pressure loss per meter, total friction pressure loss, local resistance value, dynamic pressure, pressure loss in local resistances and total pressure loss on plots.
For reference:
- when specifying a rectangular section h / b, h or b are set for each section
- if the recommended speed is deleted in the table, in step 1 select a different speed and click the "Calculation" button, then the speed in the table is recalculated according to point 1.
- if the Flow and Length are not set in the table, then the “Accepted section” cell will be gray
- if the column “Accepted section” is highlighted in red, then you have changed the flow rate in the section and “Required section” turned out to be more than “Accepted section”. It is necessary to increase the "Accepted section"
- results from the table can be exported in .xls format by clicking on the button "Download table in excel"
