This calculator is used to build normal and tangential stresses of various sections, among which are a circle, an I-beam, a channel, a corner, a rectangle, a profile pipe and brands.
By plotting the diagrams, it is possible to determine the weak points of the section by height, by specifying the moment and lateral force, and compare them with the corresponding design resistance of the beam material.
Operating procedure:
1. Select the type of section (circle, I-beam, channel, angle, rectangle, shaped tube and brands)
2. Enter all unknown geometric characteristics of the section
3. Enter the bending moment M (can be set in different units of measurement)
4. Enter the transverse force Q (can be set in different units of measurement)
5. Click the button "Calculation"
The result will be constructed plot of normal and tangential stresses, as well as constructed section.
Also, for convenience, the plate below summarizes the maximum values of these voltages in MPa.
If necessary, you can find out the voltage at any point of the section along the height. To do this, put a tick in the column “find out voltage by section height” and set the distance from the center of gravity of the section (middle red dotted line) to the required point.
