Looking at some objects or structures, sometimes the question arises whether they will not tip over when exposed to lateral loads (wind, leaning on them with your hand, back, etc.).
The task is not difficult and comes down to a comparison of two points - holding and overturning, and with this calculation it becomes even easier. Here you can count on the rollover of items such as a chair, table, bed, wardrobe, billboard, fence, walls, and more.
Operating procedure:
1. Select the scheme for the calculation
2. Fill in the field "Load" (you can set the concentrated load, distributed load along the length and distributed load on the area)
3. Fill in the “Masses” field, among which there may be a mass of a support, foundation and soil
4. Fill in the "Dimensions" (based on the "Scheme", enter all the necessary values in mm)
5. Click the button "Calculation"
The result will be the calculation of two points: holding and tilting. If the overturning moment is greater than the holding, the structure will tip over.
For reference:
- the mass of the support is the mass of the whole structure, above the foundation
- the soil mass is the soil mass above the foundation (shaded in the diagram)
- if Mouderj ≤ 1.5 * Moprokid, the calculation will give the following message “The structure will not overturn, but it would not hurt to make a stock”
- the center of gravity of the support in the calculation coincides with the geometric center of gravity of the rectangle described around this support
