The Sagar School has developed this teaching-learning-administration portal to be used for its various school academic procedure management, activities, and functions. The Information and Communication Technology Department of The Sagar School has been instrumental for developing this portal utilizing the upgraded IT software-infrastructure of the school. This inhouse novel teaching-learning portal is aptly named GYANSAGAR (meaning Ocean of Knowledge). The name has been coined after our Founder the late Dr. Vidya Sagar and also, on our motto “Gyan ki Aur”.

Currently, the entire online teaching-learning procedure of the school, including academics, remedials, sports & cocurricular classes, plus assessments & assignments, will take place through this portal, with integrated platform for live classes, available in the public domain. This is to facilitate smooth learning while children are away from the school.

There are various modules available in this portal and it is customised for the individual student’s need. The section ‘My Profile’ records the student’s basic information plus all data related to academics, sports, cocurricular, achievements, etc. While a customised ‘Timetable’ gives the complete weekly schedule, it is also integrated with ‘My Dashboard’ showing the day’s engagement. The student can get onto online learning from this section. The section ‘Helpdesk’ has been designed to provide support in case of any queries.

The teachers in the school prepare learning resources which can be uploaded by the teachers on this portal and can be accessed by the pupils. The portal will be used by the Teachers to map their curriculum and to schedule online classes. The teachers will also upload assessment and assignments papers for students to attempt and submit.

So, in a nutshell, this will be a one-stop solution for all the requirements related to online learning during this current pandemic scenario of 2020, and in future – embedding technology with the curriculum.
