Every person who rests in a cemetery carries a story.

In this app you can take part in audio walks that take place in some of the cemeteries in Karlstad. The audio tours tell the history of the city - from the early 19th century when the Västra Kyrkogården was inaugurated and onwards.

At Västra kyrkgården you are guided by Anna Ollson, who started working as a photographer in Karlstad in the 1860s, and then continued for fifty years. She tells about people who are buried in the cemetery and things they experienced - both before the great fire of 1865 and afterwards.

At the Eastern cemetery, you will meet grave opener Magnus Magnusson, who will tell you about some of the graves he dug there, between 1880 and 1910.

It is the Church of Sweden, Karlstad's pastorate, that is behind the app.
