vAdBeCeDa is the first evidence-based exercise program that promotes active and healthy aging - developed at the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).
The exercise program, created in collaboration with experts in the fields of public health, rehabilitation and sports, is aimed at preventing falls and physical frailty in older adults. With the help of targeted exercises, it increases strength (stability), balance, coordination, mobility and walking speed. It is aligned with the World Health Organization guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behavior and the latest global recommendations for the prevention and management of falls in older adults.
The program includes dynamic warm-up exercises adapted to the specific needs and functional state of the elderly, a set of progressive exercises for balance and strength in four levels of difficulty (from A to D) and static stretching exercises.
12 training units are planned; each difficulty level of the exercise is expected to be performed three training units. The training unit consists of an introductory, main and final part.
