Racing in Stumble Guys is anything but fair – in fact, the game encourages you to get in the way of your rivals smooth running sessions.
One way to do that is by punching and grabbing your opponents. You probably already saw other players do that, but have no idea how this mechanic works. And that’s because the way to punch and grab is intentionally hidden.
How to Punch and Grab in Stumble Guys
Both punching and grabbing is done by using specific emotes, unlocked via the Stumble Pass. Once used, the emotes will cause your character to execute a corresponding action.
Punching emote (which looks like a boxer glove) will cause other players in its vicinity to get knocked back, sometimes making them fall out of the stage entirely.
While the innocently-looking Hugging emote (looks like a heart) will grab the player, allowing the other character to carry them wherever they want – usually in front of a cliff.
There are two ways to unlock those emotes for yourself. One of them will require you to gather stars by playing the game, which will unlock different bonuses in in the Stumble Pass.
One of the aforementioned emotes, and they are by far the most useful ones.
Ever since its inception, Fall Guys has been creating in the gaming community, with its simple yet very entertaining multiplayer game play, and a wide variety of maps to keep the matches fresh on every round. And like with anything that becomes massively popular, similar games inevitably started to pop up, with Stumble Guys being one of the most popular variants.
Now, while it’s easy to dismiss it as a copycat, Stumble Guys actually do its own fair share of things right. For starters, it launched first as a mobile-exclusive title, making it the best Fall Guys-style multiplayer game for smartphones, which says a lot. Secondly, while the game play is very reminiscent of the original, Stumble Guys have its own mechanics, as well as its own unique repertoire of maps and obstacle courses. In this regard, you can consider this game as an extension of the original—whenever you get bored of the maps in Fall Guys, you can switch to Stumble Guys, and vice versa.
However, while Stumble Guys do have its fair share of optimizations for mobile gamers, such as dynamic for improved controls, the best way to enjoy this multiplayer party game is on PC since you’ll have a much easier time lining up precise jumps with your keyboard than with touchscreen controls, not to mention that you’ll be playing on a large monitor instead of a cramped phone screen.
