This app works as an offline Optical Character Recognition (OCR) application for English characters ONLY. The image to be processed can be either captured by camera, or opened from the Gallery.

When capturing an image, the Camera application starts first to take an image. Then, the Photo Editor crops the image. Finally, the recognized text in the image is copied to the Clipboard and displayed into the text field for editing.

Similarly when an existing image is opened, the recognized text in the image is copied to the Clipboard and displayed into the text field for editing.

This app also can be launched by other apps for result. In this case, the recognized text will be returned to the launching app and this app will close.

This application utilizes the tess-two library (https://github.com/rmtheis/tess-two) for the OCR functionality.

Known issues:
On some devices especially with limited RAM, the app crashes during the image processing phase.
