Palm trunks are used to make pillars, basins and boards. In some places soft trunks are used to carry water through ponds and tubes. The threads obtained from leaves and stems are used to make brooms, brushes, ropes and pipes. Palms are sedative and nutritious. Neera is known as a stimulant, cold, diuretic and vitamin C drink.
