Local Explore is an app that shows you where interesting or important buildings or installations are.

Choose a group of locations to display, such as the the historical buildings listed on the "Surprising Swindon" brochure from Swindon Civic Voice, see which is closest to you (shown using an orange icon), and set off to visit it. Tap on a venue icon to see a description of the location.

Location sets may change over time, for example Swindon Open Studios only runs in September, so these will disappear the rest of the year.

Getting close enough (within 5 metres) of a location, allows you to record a visit to that location, visited locations will be shown as darker icon, unvisited as blue icons. All visit data is stored locally on your device, no location or visit data is exported. Recording visits does not need a network or data connection.

To load or change to a set of locations, ensure that you have a network or data connection, then tap the burger/menu button, and choose "load locations", the available location sets are shown. Tapping a set icon will load those locations (and unload any previously selected set, the data for previous sets including visits, is kept on your device).
