The low cost PineTime smart watch can be used as an Eplileptic Seizure Detector by OpenSeizureDetector (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.org.openseizuredetector).
To do this a custom firmware must be installed on the PineTime watch, overwriting the factory-installed firmware.
This app presents the user with a list of available firmware releases and downloads the one the user selects from the OpenSeizureDetector web site.
It then scans for available Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices so the user can select the watch they want to update.
The app will then flash the selected firmware onto the watch so it can be used by OpenSeizureDetector for seizure detection. This app is only used to install the firmware on the PineTime watch - to use it as a Seizure Detector use the main OpenSeizureDetector Android App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.org.openseizuredetector).
Bot this app and the main OpenSeizureDetector Android App are completely free and Open Source and do not contain advertisements. The source code for this app is available here: https://github.com/OpenSeizureDetector/Android_PineTime_Updater
Note that OpenSeizureDetector does not supply PineTime watches, but they can be obtained from the manufacturer's web store (https://pine64.com/product/pinetime-smartwatch-sealed/)
The app also lists the original 'infinitime' firmware so this can be installed on the watch later if required.
