The Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) is intended to transform the budget, finance, and accounting operations of most DoD Defense Agencies to achieve accurate and reliable financial information in support of financial accountability. Thus, DAI provides an effective and efficient decision-making throughout the Defense Agencies in support of the missions of the warfighter. DAI is a critical DoD effort to modernize the Defense Agencies' financial management capabilities.

The DAI Mobile application lets all Marines learn on the go, No more printing references for new Marines to read before getting access to the network. Senior Marines can view the same data as those who are inputting and working through the data, so they have a more holistic understanding of the process. With the inclusion of the System Process Documents (SPDs), every Marine can teach themselves how to tackle almost any obstacle in DAI without ever needing to reach out to a Helpdesk or to ask for another Marines assistance. The DAI Mobile Application benefits all Marines looking to learn or understand how DAI operates, how information is organized and recorded, and how to assist others in navigating the system.
