Wagner Tiso, conductor of the fusions between popular and erudite, of samba and jazz, of Minas Gerais baroque and gypsy melody, of the most creative and harmonious mixtures, celebrates 60 years of a superlative, plural career, at the same time singular and generous. Before exploring his trajectory, one of the most expressive in Brazilian music, I leave some figures that help to measure his importance: Tiso has released more than 30 albums, composed more than 30 tracks, created more than three thousand arrangements, orchestrated more than 15 original pieces and won more than 20 awards over the six decades dedicated entirely to music.

Wagner Tiso brings in his music the memory of ancestral voices. It is difficult to distinguish and enumerate so many sources: the churches of Minas, the gypsy melodies, the harmonies of Villa-Lobos and Antônio Carlos Jobim, not to mention other orixás of the world's songs. Wagner Tiso poured these voices into his cauldron and drew from it music of extreme originality, in which sometimes joy and its allegories are expressed, at other times the sound of the deepest melancholy.
