The Census project aims to unlock the value of data by making it easier convert data into something you can spend. How much is this data worth? It doesn’t matter how much it’s worth if you’re not selling it.

Nearly everyone generates data, yet very few companies actually compensate people directly for data. For most, earning value from data is an afterthought, but data is a big deal to larger firms that exploit user data for large profits. We’d like to change that. We’d like to give people control of when and how they are compensated for data. It’s your data. Start acting like you own it. The Census project aims to help you take control of your data by creating a curated data marketplace.

Soon you’ll be able to earn CEN points by leveraging data that you already own. Opt-in to share via mobile app, browser plug-in, IoT device, Smart TV or upload directly to the marketplace. We’ll work directly with buyers to ensure that only the most valuable data enters the market.

The Census project is just taking off. We’ll be offering 1,500 CEN points to the first 10,000 users (in qualifying regions) that download our app and complete the on-boarding process. The CEN points will allow holders to access some data sets that they are a part of. You can also use your CEN points to create surveys and reward respondents. Surveys and referrals will make up an initial earning economy. More methods and market features will be added in the future.
