The app provides direction from Starfleet Command to Starfleet Engineering - Develop the next-generation starship using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). With the establishment of the systems engineering (SE) corps, the process of MBSE for starship design can begin.

The requirements view shows the initial specification from Starfleet Command. The requirements are then taken and a set of derived functions are shown and decomposed into a hierarchical outline view. Finally, a set of systems are shown that will support the allocated functions to satisfy the requirements.

The user can provide system and function description information and requirement verification method information that will be saved on device. Now, after laying the foundation of Requirements, Functions, and Systems, the SE corps has now provided for further object-based modeling and architecture development by including traceability/allocation functionality, as well as an Allocation Metrics view.
