Wizzie Words is a multifunctional dictionary app powered by Oxford Languages, designed to enhance vocabulary retention and reading comprehension through reading.

Whether you're reading a novel, textbook, magazine, newspaper, menu, or even a notice board, Wizzie Words turns every unfamiliar word, phrase, or idiom into a learning opportunity - not a barrier.

Your journey begins by simply scanning a sentence or paragraph and looking up an unfamiliar word. The app automatically highlights phrases and idioms in the text, making it easy for you to check their meanings. You can save the words and idioms you’ve looked up and categorise them—at that point, the app becomes tailored to your learning needs.

You can play games using your saved content and curated word lists. If English isn’t your first language, you can set a default translation language. For those with reading or learning differences, the app includes text-to-speech, colour overlays, and dyslexia-friendly fonts.

To keep you engaged, Wizzie Words uses points, streaks, and leaderboards. You can also follow friends, invite them to play games, and explore the words and idioms they’re discovering.
