US, Canada, British, and Australian Currency Calculator: Learn, Count, and Add Values of Coins and Bills

This educational app helps students learn how to add the values of coins and bills using a calculator. It supports four major currencies: the United States (USD), Canada (CAD), Australia (AUD), and the United Kingdom (GBP). The program teaches students to convert the value of a coin or bill into a number, enter it into a calculator, and find the total amount.

To start, click “US, Canada, British, and Australian Currency Calculator: Learn, Count, and Add Values of Coins and Bills” and then click the “Enter” button. The program is ideal for teaching money skills in classrooms, special education settings, therapy sessions, and at home.

Training Mode
The default mode is Training. In this mode, students are guided step-by-step. When coins or bills are added correctly, a congratulatory animation plays to reinforce learning. This animation can be turned off if preferred.

Test Mode
When Test mode is selected, students are assessed without on-screen help. Coins and bills are not grayed out when used, and feedback is given only after completing the task. Results from the test are recorded and can be viewed using the Report feature.

Report Feature
The Report records the results from Test mode. It shows which responses were correct or incorrect and allows teachers or parents to track student progress over time.

Display Value On or Off
By default, the value of each coin or bill is shown (e.g., “10¢” under a dime, “£2” under a UK coin). This helps early learners recognize currency. You may turn this option off to make the activity more challenging.

Command Text
Instructional text appears by default at the bottom of the screen: “Start at the top left and enter each coin or bill’s value.” This can be turned off in settings if not needed.

Congratulatory Animation
A short celebratory animation plays when the student successfully adds values in Training mode. It runs for ten seconds and can be stopped early or disabled altogether in settings.

Coins or Bills Add Up To
This feature lets instructors set a target value (e.g., 25¢, $1, £5, $100). The coins and bills provided must be combined to reach that exact amount. This is useful for controlled practice and skill-building with specific amounts.

Select All
This is enabled by default, including all available denominations from the selected currency. Teachers may customize this to show only certain coins or bills.

OK and Done Buttons
Click the “OK” button to confirm your settings and begin the activity. Click “Done” to exit the program and return to the main menu.
