An educational adventure game created by students of the Chinese Christian Church Fong Yun Wah Secondary School, immersing players in the cultural heritage of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Game Concept
Through a story-driven experience, players learn about the properties and healing effects of various Chinese herbs, enhancing their understanding and interest in TCM. The game offers multiple difficulty levels, encouraging players to match herbs correctly, unlock achievements, and rise from a humble beginner to a legendary healer.
The “Fong” Secret Realm
Guided by the in-game physician, players venture into mysterious realms such as Shennong Forbidden Ground, Daxing Ghost Valley, and Changbai Perilous Peak to gather herbs. Correctly matching herbs with their effects unlocks achievements, new costumes, and exciting story progressions.
Teacher “Yun” Sin
If players fail in the matching challenge, they can review knowledge with Teacher “Yun” to revisit herb characteristics and effects before returning to the game.
“Wah” Palace
Players who make too many mistakes or wish to upgrade faster can visit the “Wah” Palace, which showcases ancient physicians and TCM development through videos, texts, and images.
Development Philosophy
This educational innovation project, led by Vice Principal Chu Pui Ching and Teacher Lee Uen Yan, was co-created by Form 4 students with professional guidance from Re:learn.
Incorporating twelve herbal species from the school’s own Fong Yun Wah Chinese Medicine Garden, the project promotes cross-disciplinary learning, creativity, and teamwork — making the exploration of traditional medicine both fun and meaningful.
