The Xuan Thuy National Park is a beautiful mangrove forest, covering about 7,100 hectares. It is located approximately 150 km Southeast of Hanoi at the mouth of the Red River.
Among other things, Xuan Thuy is home to 219 species of birds from 41 families and 13 orders. It is a significant resting and feeding sight for migratory waterbirds as they head from the north to the south, especially during November and December.

This Application is a guide for all those bird-species, coming to the Nationalpark. It contains general descriptions about the birds and informations about their habitats, observation and conservation.
It also includes Several pictures for every bird and sound files with the correct pronounciation of the bird names, which are there to help the staff of the Nationalpark with their pronounciation when guiding tourists around.

This project is part of a volunteering service of us two German volunteers (Robert Mildenberger and Niklas Schäfer). We have been living and working here for one year in total and we are happy to be able to publish this application now. It is a non-commercial project and we will not profit from it.
