VibView is an application designed to facilitate the perception of the outside world by people with blindness.
It detects the contours and distances to provide, through tactile feedback, a tactile description of the image placed in front of the device's camera.

Note: the distance is derived from the analysis of the image and therefore it may not be precise, therefore DO NOT USE TO MOVE IN AN UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT.

If your device has a multiple rear camera, you will benefit from the full functionality of the app:

-You can continuously explore the depth value, with tactile feedback at higher frequencies for more distant objects and at lower frequencies for closer objects. If your device has Force Touch you can increase the perception of differences by pressing the screen more vigorously.

- with the "listen to depth" function which creates an audio atmosphere based on distances and colors on a 5x5 matrix (reduced to 3x3 if the device is heating up)

- using the very simple "virtual stick", which can be changed in length by swiping up and down, the device vibrates if it points to something closer to the length of the virtual stick (at launch it sets its length equal to the distance)

- try the "surface tilt function" to find your way around a wall

For long distances, for images as a painting or if you do not have a device with a multiple camera, with a double tap in mode 1 in the center of the screen the image is processed after a fraction of a second, becoming explorable. In this case the depth map is obtained with AI algorithms. You will also benefit from gyroscopic sensors to explore it by simply placing a finger on the screen and tilting the device, as if you were changing the direction of the pointing.

Switch between modes with double tap in the right or left area of ​​the screen.

Access "walls inclination" with a swipe to the right starting from "virtual stick". With a swipe on the left you return to the "virtual stick".

"Listen to the depth" gives you 3D spatial audio, try it with earphones! If your device does not have a multiple camera, only access the color audio scene.

VoiceOver must be deactivated. VibView does not access the Internet or store images in any way.
