The PREDHiCT app will provide proven and novel healthy lifestyle tips backed by science to prevent or manage risk for heart disease, high cholesterol, blood pressure (hypertension), blood sugar (diabetes), or obesity. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by all the data and information from your Fitbit, you will receive simple and important information on your performance and healthy lifestyle behaviors every week that are unique to your health and wellness needs. You will also receive personalized health information via entertaining videos, text messages, and notifications about how to lead a healthier lifestyle. And while you are working on getting healthier through our app, you get the opportunity to fight the world’s biggest health issues, cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity, by learning how you can make a difference and possibly get involved in research combating these diseases. The App uses Healthkit to keep track of your steps, sleep and other fitness parameter (Active Energy, Body Fat percentage, Body Mass Index, Heart Rate, Weight)
This app is part of a study being conducted by researchers at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Researchers here will use the data from the app to study health conditions to improve general health. Participants have the option to stop using the app at any time.
