The Math Scholar's main purpose is to build mental math expertise through the use of a simple, entertaining interface.

Features:

- TABLES Mode. There are tables provided for Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction and Division practice.
-- Each table row features a [?] button. When pressed, the correct answer for that row is shown. No more using a sheet of paper to hide the answers when studying Times Tables!

- BASIC PRACTICE. Integer addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Answers are always positive integers (no remainders or negative numbers).
-- Randomly generated practice questions are presented as two arguments separated by an operator with an Answer Box at the end:

arg1 {+-x/} arg2 = [?]

Pressing the box reveals the answer. Thus, no multiple choices are needed nor is a phone keyboard required for entries. Just mental math.

- ADVANCED PRACTICE. Same as BASIC but with three terms in the problem set.
-- Two different operators for the problem set are selected to establish the operator pair for the problems presented.
-- Three semi-randomly selected arguments separated by two operators are presented as well as the ANSWER!

-- The student's task is to select the two operators {?} that will make the [answer] correct.
-- Arguments are always arranged so that no negative numbers are encountered, nor are there any fractions. Strict "Order of Operations" rules are enforced.

- QUIZ Mode (Untimed).
-- Select up to 25 questions
-- Select a math operation
-- Select upper limit for Addends, Multipliers, Divisors and Subtrahends
-- An onscreen number keypad is used to record answers
-- Answers can be reviewed/corrected before selecting "Grade Quiz".

- QUIZ Mode (Timed).
-- Question Count and Highest Factor are pre-set with Default menu option.
-- At the completion of the last question on the quiz, the keyboard is closed, the timer is stopped and the quiz is immediately scored. If the quiz is scored 100% (no questions missed), the program compares this score against the saved low score for the operation just concluded. If the score is lower (i.e. completed faster) the student is notified and the new score replaces the previous one. Use the Record menu item to review scoreboard.

- DEFAULT Menu Item is used to change Default Timed Quiz parameters. Current values are displayed and options are presented to change the Question Count and/or Highest Factor. Note that when the default settings are changed Records are automatically cleared. This prevents a new score with different quiz parameters from mixing with scores that used a different baseline.

- GRADING Mode.
-- The full problem set and user answers are displayed. A symbol is added to indicate correct (check mark) or incorrect (X) answers. If answered incorrectly, the correct answer is shown in [brackets].
-- Score results are shown as correct answers vs questions asked (n out of q) as well as a percentage grade. Elapsed time is displayed if quiz was timed.

- The RECORDS Menu Item displays the Best (lowest) Scores for each math operation as well as default parameters for the quizzes. A CLEAR option is available to erase current scores and start with a fresh table.

Kid-friendly interface. Ten minutes a day will help improve any child's basic math skills, especially the mental math skill.
