Camel racing is particularly passionate in the Sultanate of Oman, as is the case in other Gulf Arab countries, as it is one of the most important cultural and cultural legacies that have been historically associated with the lives of the people of the Gulf since ancient times. Official and popular interest in it has developed into an important economic resource for many camel breeders.

Camel races of all kinds are practiced in Oman during religious and national holidays and popular events. They are often accompanied by performances of singing and un-songed folk art, such as the art of "Al-Tariq, Hambal, and Al-Taghroud" and other local Bedouin legacies.

The camel races are divided into two types: the "ardha" with a distance of five hundred meters, and the "distance" race and the "marathon" whose distances are determined according to the age group of the camel using a robot or human passenger for distances of up to forty kilometers.
