CoronaCheck Scanner is the official Dutch test declaration scanner developed by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. This digital tool verifies if visitors of certain social, cultural or sports locations in the Netherlands did not have coronavirus at the time of testing.
How does the app work?
- Ask a visitor to show their test results
At the entrance, the visitor has to prove they did not have coronavirus at the time of testing. The test results are available in the CoronaCheck app in the form of a QR code. This code can be scanned from a safe distance.
- Scan the QR code for access
This app scans the visitor’s QR code. A green screen allows access. The QR code needs to be scanned within 40 hours after testing.
- Check if the QR code is valid
A green screen means the QR code is valid: the visitor has tested negative within the last 40 hours and did not have coronavirus at the time of testing. If you get a red screen, the visitor does not have valid negative test results.
This is how the app processes data:
* Visitor data is not saved in a central location
* Visitor GPS or location data is not used or saved
* The QR code contains minimal personal data
