After several prolonged helium shortages over the past 15 years, the past 2 years may have finally brought the period of recurring shortages to an abrupt end during early 2020. With supply and demand in relative balance throughout much of 2020 and into early 2021, the next challenge for helium markets will be to absorb significant, yet anticipated, new capacity from Russia and Qatar, over the coming years.
