AD Inspect, a multi-tenant platform developed by Avery Dennison's Retail Brand Information Services(RBIS) as a solution that provides Apparel and Footwear brands worldwide with the ability to validate the authenticity of products. This application will be distributed to a limited set of companies. Users of this application are doing so on company provided iPhone or iPad on behalf of their brand employer for the distinct purpose of identifying counterfeit or gray market products . As the users are acting on behalf of their brand and not for themselves personally, there is no expectation of user privacy. Users will be required to grant access to the camera and precise location details - the camera to take and upload images of counterfeit product and the location of their scan will be used in legal proceedings against counterfeit manufacturers.
